How to bold text on Threads
- Type or paste your text in the box above.
- Copy the bold version (πΉπΆπΈπ² ππ΅πΆπ).
- Paste it into your Threads post, reply, or bio. Done.
The Threads composer has no bold button and no Markdown, so typing **asterisks** does nothing. This tool sidesteps that with Unicode: letters that are bold by design, carried inside the text itself. They render the same on iPhone, Android, and the web, because to Threads it is all just text. The same trick works for πͺπ΅π’ππͺπ€ and ππ€π‘π ππ©ππ‘ππ.
When bold text helps on Threads
Threads shows only the first few lines of a post before the fold, so a bolded hook in the first line does the most work. Bold the claim, the number, or the name people are scanning for, then leave the rest plain. Posts that are entirely bold read like shouting and are harder to skim, which is the opposite of what you want.
Frequently asked questions
Does Threads support bold text natively?
No. The Threads composer has no formatting controls and ignores Markdown. Unicode styled text, which this tool generates, is currently the only way to get bold or italic text into a Threads post.
Does bold text work in Threads replies and bios?
Yes. Because the styling lives in the characters themselves, it works anywhere Threads accepts text: posts, replies, quotes, and your bio.
Will bold text reduce my reach on Threads?
There is no evidence Threads downranks Unicode styling. Keep it to a few words though: screen readers announce these characters one letter at a time, so full-bold posts are rough for accessibility.
Can I use the same bold text on Instagram or X?
Yes. The styled text is plain Unicode, so you can paste the exact same words into Instagram captions, X posts, LinkedIn, or Facebook and the styling comes along.
