WordPress

Publish posts to a self-hosted site through the FoPost plugin, or to WordPress.com.

WordPress publishing creates a post on your site, with the body rendered to clean HTML.

Connecting

Two ways in:

  • Self-hosted site: install the FoPost plugin and connect with the token it issues. The plugin is the supported path for self-hosted sites.
  • WordPress.com: Accounts → Connect → WordPress, approve on WordPress.com, and pick the site there. The token is scoped to that one site and does not expire.

What you can publish

LimitValue
Body100,000 characters, rendered to HTML: headings, lists, quotes, code, and inline images all carry over
TitleFrom the post title, or the start of the body
ImagesUp to 10 (JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP), 64 MB each
LinkAppended to the post body
Tags and categoriesNot supported today

The first attached image is uploaded to the site's media library and set as the post's featured image; images placed in the body render inline. Per post you can publish live (the default) or as a draft. On a plugin connection, the site's own policy can downgrade a publish to a draft. The post's status reflects what the site actually did.

Inbox

Approved comments on the site land in the inbox, and you can reply from there.

Analytics

None: a stock WordPress site has no metrics API to read.

Deleting

Deleting the post in FoPost deletes it on the site permanently, bypassing the trash. This cannot be undone.
